The PACO provide the institution with deadline requirements to enable it to meet internal and external expectations when proposing new programmes of study, making changes to courses and programmes, details on when programme structures need to be checked and when the new ones become published for the coming session as well as when the deadlines are for discontinuations. These deadlines are linked to committee meetings at specific times of the year, so building them into a calendar will provide a good link between the calendar and academic programme management and make this information readily available to academic staff who need to know when to make their proposals. If using Outlook the different types of information can be colour coded so that deadlines are easily spottable in comparison to committee dates.
Please consider publishing the academic calendar to all staff via Outlook and not as a Word document. Using Word is so old fashioned and using Outlook means we can send invites to the meetings and share the calendar easily with all staff so it is at their fingertips rather than hunting for it on the web.
